Medusa. Femme fatale, whose beauty made men much harder than they’d like. Feminist superhero, with snaky locks and deadly gaze not to be messed with. The go-to figure for those seeking to demonise female authority; an image search for any woman politician will unearth her face photoshopped onto Medusa’s head. The original nasty woman. For thousands of years, the story of Medusa has fascinated and terrified readers. Poets, philosophers and artists have told and retold her story, all attempting to discover the true Medusa. If only it were that simple.

From award-winning theatre-maker Sabrina D’Angelo comes a surreal black comedy about one character’s wild journey through time and into the unreliable, paradoxical and weird history of herself.

Excommunicated televangelist Neville Umbrellaman is back with another dose of enlightenment and reckless fear-mongering in the second instalment of his late-night broadcast for lonely people, featuring spiritual visions, romantic advice, insomniac callers and immaterial prize giveaways.

Guest performances by body-poet Sabrina D’Angelo, comedian Nick Sun, theatremaker Nick Coyle and singer-songwriter Zeadala. With jug-band music from the Søren Kierkegaard Jug Stompers.

A young woman sits alone in a room. She has been there for a very long time, it seems like forever. But she seems content. One day, she receives an unexpected visit from a stranger and suddenly her world is turned inside out. A surreal black comedy about our desires to control, escape, delete.

This is a brand-new absurdist comedy by Sydney-based artist Sabrina D’Angelo, incorporating body poetry, puppetry, music and song. Sabrina has a Master of Puppetry from the Victorian College of the Arts, and has created work for presentation at Melbourne International Comedy Festival and Melbourne Fringe. This year she is also a participant in Belvoir’s inaugural Artist Workshop program.

This series of Late Night Library is produced by City of Sydney, and presented in collaboration with Roxzan Bowes and Brendan O’Connell.

Its best to book for Late Night Library however we will be taking walk ups 5min before the show.
